E.H. Marth Food and Environmental Scholarship The
Wisconsin Association of Food Protection (WAFP) welcomes your
application for the $1,500.00 E. H. Marth Food and Environmental
Scholarship. This award is intended to promote and sustain interest
in fields of study that may lead to a career in dairy, food, or
environmental sanitation. One scholarship is awarded per year and
previous applicants and recipients may reapply.
Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be accepted
or enrolled in an accredited post high school undergraduate degree
or diploma program (university, college, or technical college) in
Wisconsin or an out-of-state school with a reciprocal enrollment
agreement with Wisconsin.
2. Applicant must have full-time student status.
3. Applicant must be a resident of Wisconsin.
4. Applicant must be enrolled in a Dairy Science/Food
Science/Environmental Sanitation or closely related major
(dietetics, agronomy, animal science, etc.) to be eligible for the
scholarship.
The
following documents must be submitted for an application to be
considered complete: 1. E. H. Marth Food and Environmental
Scholarship application. 2. Copy of official transcript. 3. Recommendation of advisor or instructor which should address
scholastic ability, professional potential, applicable work
experience, extra-curricular activities, financial need and other
relevant information. (This may be mailed directly to the
scholarship committee by the advisor or instructor.)

Marth Scholarship
WAFP Memorial Scholarship The
WAFP Scholarship Committee is now accepting requests for scholarship
applications for the $1,000.00 WAFP Memorial
Scholarship.
Eligibility: Scholarship
applicants must meet the following qualifications: 1. Must be a
child or dependent of a current or deceased WAFP member at the
time of
submitting the application and receiving the award or may
be a WAFP student member.
2.
Must have graduated from high school in “good standing” and achieved
a minimum composite grade point average of “B” or better. 3.
Must
have been accepted in an accredited post-high school degree program
(university, college, or technical college) and have maintained a
minimum composite grade point average of “B” or better.
4. Must
not have previously been a recipient of the Memorial Scholarship

Memorial Scholarship |
WAFP Food Protection Travel Scholarship
This
scholarship provide travel assistance to an undergraduate or
graduate student from a Wisconsin accredited college or university
to present original research at the annual conference of the
International Association for Food Protection.
NOTE:
Deadline for the 2008 scholarship has passed. Please check back in
August 2008 for next years scholarship information
Eligibility: Scholarship
applicants must meet the following qualifications: 1. Must be
enrolled in an accredited post-high school program and
active in
independent research on food safety or food microbiological quality. 2.
An abstract
of the student’s original research must be submitted to WAFP two
weeks before the deadline for abstracts designated by IAFP.
Abstracts must conform to the IAFP format and be no longer than 300
words. 3.
Qualifying abstract must be accepted by the
IAFP Program Committee for presentation at the IAFP Annual
Conference. Additional information about IAFP abstract submission
is enclosed and can be found on the IAFP website
www.foodprotection.org.

IAFP Travel Scholarship

Submit completed
abstract form via E-mail as an attached text or MS Word™ document to
Kathy Glass,
kglass@wisc.edu.
Make sure application submitted via e-mail includes cc: to
professor.
Reimbursement of expenses: Student must submit an expense report
to the WAFP Treasurer for reimbursement after the IAFP Annual
Conference. Receipts for airfare and lodging will be required for
reimbursement. Student will be responsible for making his or her
own transportation arrangements and hotel reservations. Maximum
travel reimbursement is limited to $1000. WAFP will follow
University of Wisconsin System guidelines for travel reimbursement.
Advances for conference registration fees and airfare will be
considered upon request. Travel award is not transferable to
another student or professor.
